Julie Bonner Interview
Julie has had the privilege to speak at these organizations:
• National Bank of Arizona, Women’s Finance Group
• Commercial Real Estate of Women
• Sunrise Elementary School
• Borton Elementary School
• Ad2 Tucson
• University of Arizona Journalism Department
Both of Julie’s parents were teachers and her teaching abilities have always come naturally. At 16 she began teaching tennis to children in NY and continued her teaching career as an adjunct for the Visual Communications Department at the former Art Center Design College in Tucson, AZ.
Today she enjoys providing opportunities to engage youth in understanding more about having a career in art and design. She also has a knack to inspire adults to connect with what they really enjoy doing.
“Julie is an extraordinary designer and painter. She has an exceptional understanding of the mind of a child and is able to create inspirational illustrations that keep their attention and desire to learn. Her alphabet cards based on the Arizona environment are beyond compare and offer a new and different option for instructing young children.
Additionally, while visiting our school, she presented lessons to students that were engaging and provided topics of interest to the classes. Her inclusion of visuals combined with questions and discussion were masterful in allowing students to interact with the media.
Teachers and staff found the presentations, as well as her illustrations, brilliant and knowledge based regarding children and their development.
I unqualifiedly recommend Julie Bonner’s work and presentations for any young population.”Sue Shafer, Reading Specialist at Sunrise Drive Elementary – Catalina Foothills School District
