This weekend I exhibited my Julie Originals products at the Oasis Gift Show in Phoenix. Although I was nervous about making the investment I am already thankful that I participated. Here’s some of the awesome results!

New retailers:

I am excited to say that my Desert Dwellers Flash Cards and greeting cards are now expanding to other states! By being at this more nationally known show, I was able to meet buyers from really great places from around the country. I think it helped for them to see my product in person – being able to touch it and see the quality. From being at the Grand Canyon to a national park in Texas – I am so excited!

Partnerships including:

• An educational distributor interested in including my Desert Dwellers Flash Cards in their next catalog
• A large souvenir manufacturer looking to license some of my images
• A talented wood-worker that wants to use animal images I create for his products

Education:

A majority of the other exhibitors have been doing the show for 10-20 years. They were inspiring and I learned alot by asking questions. All of them were kind, smart and helpful.

Friendships:

From the buyers I met to the show organizers and fellow exhibitors – I feel like I have really connected with a whole new community.

I want to thank Jon, Jenny, Dad and Sandi, Mom, Cally, Tony, Cindy, Jennifer M, Jennifer V, and my awesome LinkedIn friends for encouraging me to participate! I am so thankful that I exhibited at the Oasis Gift Show.

About Julie Rustad:

Artist Julie Rustad blended painting with her design expertise to develop the award-winning Desert Dwellers product line. In addition to greeting cards, she created the Desert Dwellers Flash Cards to teach her son about desert wildlife. They contain amusing stories about desert animals and feature Julie’s acrylic art on canvas. See more of her work at www.julieoriginals.com.
